The main body of the country's first "nuclear storage integration" pumping and storage project began

China National Nuclear Corp. 's "integrated nuclear storage" pumping project, the main body of Fujian Yunxiao pumped storage power station, started work on Nov. 9. It is reported that this is the CNNC to deeply implement the Party's 20 spirit, tightly grasp the "dual carbon" target under the pumped storage market opportunity, accelerate the construction of a new energy system specific measures.

According to reports, Yunxiao pumped storage power Station is currently the largest pumped storage power station under construction in Fujian Province, the total construction period is about 70 months, bearing the mission of the country's first "nuclear storage integration" demonstration operation model. The designed installed capacity of the power station is 1.8 million kW, and six mixed-flow reversible energy storage units of 300,000 kW will be built, with a total investment of about 10 billion yuan. The linear distance from Xiamen City, Zhangzhou City and Yunxiao County gate is 81 kilometers, 52 kilometers and 15 kilometers, respectively. The approach road is connected with National Highway 324, and the geographical location is superior.

LAN Liangmu, secretary of the Party Committee of Yunxiao County, said that the power station is a key construction project in Fujian Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" for energy development. It is of great significance to serve the county and even Fujian's long-term goal of all-round high-quality development. The development of pumped   storage and the innovative implementation of the "nuclear storage   integration"   operation mode are the only way to build a clean energy highland of Yunxiao,   and   the vivid practice of the "two Mountains" concept in Yunxiao. Pumped storage is characterized by large energy storage capacity, high storage and release efficiency, flexible operation and rapid response, which can complement nuclear power, wind power and solar power. Pumped storage power station is an important support for the construction of a new power system, and an important part of the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and reliable, intelligent and flexible, economical and efficient new power system.

It is reported that after the plant is put into operation, it will form an "integrated nuclear storage" operation with Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Company. While providing peak regulating services for nuclear power and ensuring the basic load operation of nuclear power, it will also undertake tasks such as peak regulating, valley filling, frequency regulating, phase regulating and emergency backup of Fujian power grid, so as to ensure the safety of power grid operation and the consumption of clean energy, ensure the safety of Fujian power supply and promote the local economic and social development. At the same time, the annual thermal power and coal consumption of the system can be saved about 1.138,500 tons, which will effectively promote the energy conservation and emission reduction and air pollution prevention and control in Fujian Province, with great environmental benefits.

In addition, during the construction of the power station, it will effectively promote the development of related industries in the project area, and it is expected to increase the local tax revenue of about 170 million yuan every year. It is expected to increase local tax revenue by 160 million yuan per year. The project will also carry out the construction of resettlement sites, improve rural roads, electricity communication lines and other infrastructure and villagers' living environment, and is of great significance for promoting regional economic and social development and rural revitalization.
